Feed my Starving Children
Feed My Starving Children is committed to feeding God's starving children hungry in body and spirit. Our approach is simple: Volunteers pack nutritious meals made up of rice, soy, vitamins and dehydrated vegetables, and we partner with relief organizations worldwide to distribute these meals to starving children. We invite you to join us in this important work.

Bag filling dates are posted in the Narthex. Sign up now!

ST. STEPHEN'S LOCAL OUTREACH
Meals on Wheels
A number of St Stephens members volunteer to drive their own vehicles and deliver meals to home bound people in South St. Paul, West St. Paul, Inver Grove Heights and Mendota Heights, on one Wednesday noon, every four weeks. Meals are picked up about 11 AM at the west door of the former Devine Redeemer Hospital in South St. Paul. It usually takes about a short hour to deliver the 10 to 12 meals on each route. Some of the recipients like to visit, so the volunteers not only deliver warm meals, they provide some social contact with the people. Loren Van Pelt is the coordinator and is always on the look out for additional drivers.
Loaves and Fishes
St. Stephen's serves a dinner at St. Matthew's Catholic Church on the west side on the second Tuesday of each month. Serving begins at 5 p.m. and cleanup at 6:00. If you would like to help, contact the church office or come to St. Matthew on the second Tuesday.
Neighbor's Inc.
Neighbor's Inc. provides a food pantry and clothing closet, along with 12 other supportive and emergency services. We have an ongoing collection of food for the food pantry, with a special emphasis in March during Minnesota FoodShare.

SeAM
Southeast Asian Ministry provides both emergency services and long term relationships to members of the Southeast Asian community in St. Paul. Services include ESL training, a Cambodian Elders program and Parish Nurses. St. Stephen's is involved through donations and an annual adopt-a-family program at Christmas.
Corridor of Care
West St. Paul and West Side churches join together to face issues in our communities. Events have included a summer food collection, a candidates' forum, and legislative visits.
Garlough Cooperative
Local churches, agencies and ISD197 work together to improve the lives of students at Garlough and Moreland Elementary Schools. Some events that have come from the Cooperative are a summer program of activities on Wednesday mornings at the Covington Court Apartments, and a computer day-camp for improving academic skills.
ST. STEPHEN'S INTERNATIONAL OUTREACH
Lutheran Mideast Development
Lutheran Mideast Development has served the Kurdish people for almost 100 years, showing the love of Jesus in word and deed. Many members of St. Stephen's contribute to this vital ministry through sales of Kurdish Kilims (carpets), producing and mailing a quarterly newsletter, and education about the Kurds. LMD offices are located at St. Stephen's.
Ihimbo Congregation in Tanzania
Through the St. Paul Area Synod partnership with the Iringa Diocese in Tanzania, St. Stephen's has been partnered with the Ihimbo parish. We have assisted with the cost of roofing for church buildings, provided bicycles for the evangelists, and are helping 20 men and women attend secondary school. Letters from some of the students have recently arrived and are being translated. Stay tuned for some samples on this site.
ELCA World Hunger Appeal
Each December St. Stephen's has a drive for the World Hunger Appeal. These funds help in direct services and development work all over the world.
