Frequently Asked Questions

Greetings!

St. Stephen's welcomes you to our website! Thank you for dropping by. We hope you catch the flavor of this community of faith. For well over a decade we have held our purpose to be "Christ centered, invitational and of service". It is our calling from God in Christ that gives us our identity. It is God's Spirit that moves us to invite everyone to worship, relationships, support and programs. It is for the sake of our neighbor that we exist.

We welcome you to stop by the congregation as well. Drop by to get acquainted. Come and worship with us. We trust you will feel welcomed and inspired.

God bless you and yours!

"Shawls ... made for centuries universal and embracing, symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally loving, God. They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace, mother, hug, shelter and beautify. Those who have received these shawls have been uplifted and affirmed, as if given wings to fly above their troubles…”

Under the Halo: The Extraordinary Lives of Ordinary People

Lent gives hope!  Lent is an ancient and gracious recognition that we can grow in our faith.  Why?  Because our lives can be richer as we combine a deeper relationship with God with deeper relationships with
others.  This is where life’s “good stuff” is!  We have abundant ways at St. Stephen’s for you to experience the Abundant Life.  Make this Lent different.

Wednesdays in Lent, either at 11:30 a.m. or at 7 p.m., we are looking at the hand of God in six people’s lives.  “Under the Halo” is to look at them as ordinary men and women, our brothers and sisters, and be seeing God’s hand at work in their lives, be inspired to find God at work in our own.

        February 17: John Bosco
        February 24: Greg Mortenson
        March 3:  Jeanne Jugon
        March 10: Sophie Scholl
        March 17: Bob Hauer
        March 24: Father Gregory Schaffer

Both Wednesday worship services have meals available.  We hope you’ll take part in them as the fellowship of Christians is a source of great growth and encouragement.  We may still be looking for volunteers for one or more of the meals.  Please consider sharing your gifts in this way.

Jesus said when two or more are gathered in his name he was in the midst of them.  Do you believe him?  (I know you do!)  So for Lent find a way to increase the times you meet with other members of this congregation, especially with people you don’t know very well, via Small Groups.  We have lots to offer.  They have a great value.  It is not too late to give any of the groups a try.  They’re listed below.

God bless you with a renewed faith this Lent!
